Thank you everyone for your jingles and wishes and virtual hugs, but I had to let Nigel go this morning.
It was clear as of last night that this was the only thing left we could do for him. It was a very rapid decline, with nothing else to try. We just caught everything to damn late to do him any good.
Go hug your kitties and given them kisses and treats.

I’m so sad about this. 
Nigel fought hard and you took great care of him. I guess it was all too much after he was so sick from the histo. I’ll be thinking of you. We all know how hard it is and how much it sucks. Big hugs and all my sympathy.

I am so sorry about Nigel. You and he fought so hard. I had never heard of histo before this and it’s nasty. I hate that he got it again and on top of the kidney disease.
You gave Nigel a wonderful, happy life and he knew he was loved. I’m so sorry.

Thanks. They are staying pretty close - Thursday night, they were all in my room at the same time, asleep. They knew something was wrong. The worst was yesterday, when I brought in the travel crate and they were all expecting to see Nigel, and of course it was empty. They looked in the crate, in the living room, in Nigel’s large crate. I think they understand he’s not coming home, now, but still.
