Thought I would update! I finally have a dry butt. Assure Guard Gold didn’t do much. We also tried KER equisure which maybe helped. Finally upped psyllium on nutritionist advise to 1 cup AM and PM! It’s good most of the time now, except for when it gets really hot! He’s also on a pre/probiotic.
That’s great and I welcome that information. My Arab gelding has had free fecal water syndrome for several years. I have him on Speedi Beet, added to his feed dry. It has mostly cleared up the problem, except for when the weather changes drastically from cold to warm or vice versa. I am in New Hampshire and this winter has been unusually warm, staying in the 30s mostly. This week we’ve had 40s and even reached 60 today, and that has affected my horse’s manure. He was dry all winter up to this point, and he only gets a handful of Speedi beet, which was recommended by my vet. I am going to first try upping the amount he gets, but it’s good to have a backup plan of trying the psyllium if the higher amount of Speedi beet doesn’t do the trick. I’m very happy to learn that your horse is doing well on psyllium.
Biosponge from Platinum is supposed to be helpful. Horse Tech also has one called Water Works they came out with specifically for FWS. I used Tribute Constant Comfort with some success too.
