I feed Muse, it’s a grain free by Purina, it’s one of the dry foods that all my cats like. I get it from Chewy.
I really like Chewy, HOWEVER I like having a local vendor, (TSC). I take my dogs in, and the women there make a fuss over them. They are given treats, with my permission, and LOVE going in.

I feed my kitties Pro Plan Urinary Tract formula dry food. Rights now they seem to be having hair ball issues so I’ve temporarily switched to Pro Plan Hairball formula. They get 1/4 can of Friskies in the morning. I can get a 60 can pack of Friskies at Sam’s Club for around $27.

Yup. My cats chow down on 5.5 ounce cans of Tender Morsels partly because the cost is low, but it also has plenty of moisture.
I feed Orijen 6 Fish dry to supplement.
Lewis is gaining weight as he goes and cleans up what the other cats don’t eat. We have 3. 2 are good at self regulation.
I feed American Journey (you can buy at Chewy). There is a very high quality low carb dry food called ‘Carnivora’, I believe by Blue Buffalo or Blue…something. Anyway it’s expensive but it is protein, protein, protein.
But. Like others have said, the worst wet food is better than the best dry food. I use Sheba Perfect Portions. All 4 of mine like it, it isn’t horridly expensive. Like you said, OP, feeding nothing but wet when you have multiple cats ends up being $$$$$.
Our barn kitty also prefers meow mix. Randomly, the barn birds pick through it and throw all the red pieces out of the dish in the loft onto the floor below…
Wellness Core is one of the lower carb dry food options
Another vote for American Journey from Chewy.
