There are similar threads on this forum, but this is the most recent.
My only advice is to forget about being a working student. Instead, offer your riding skills to the local trainers. At my former barn, there were always opportunities to exercise horses. Many trainers don’t ride anymore themselves, and if you ride like a pro and will ride anything within reason, you might at least stay in the saddle.
