I’m not surprised if my vet is padding it quite a bit. I love them because they are very good and quick (like, one of my horses looks a little off and they are there the same day, no extra fee) but they certainly aren’t the cheapest vet in the area.

I get that, and I do support paying higher prices if that’s what they need to stay in business. Or if you need something right away. (I just picked up another tube of Banamine from my vet last week as I needed it right away and paid almost $50 for it, whereas the online pharmacy is about $30.) But if you’re using something long-term, I think it’s fair to see if there’s a more economical option.

Can’t you get them to write a prescription to Valley Vet?! I love my vet(s) too, but for a daily medication like firoxib or prascend, I’m for damn sure going to seek out the least expensive option. I spend enough at my vet(s) on routine care, emergencies and diagnostics-- they can help a girl out on these.

I’m going to; truthfully my biggest problem is I don’t Pre-plan and then I realize when I have 2 pills left that I’m almost out.

I have mine set up now for auto-ship on Valley Vet. So much easier. It arrives maybe a week or two before I run out and I don’t have to think about it. They also send a reminder that it’ll be sent, so you can change the date or cancel if you need to.
