Input on Boarding Facilities: Montgomery/Anne Arundel County Maryland.

I looked at Waredca a few years ago but there were some weird things. They run a kids camp, which can be annoying, and they have lots of shows (which can be good or frustrating). They also combine herds for shows and I was nervous about horses getting a long with new horses in a smaller field.

These things might have changed, but that’s how it was. I seem to thing there was a weird thing about farriers too… can’t remember.

Thanks again to everyone on your feedback. I’ve contacted the majority of the places on this list and am going to check some of them out for my friend. I haven’t gotten a response from Evergreen or Bucks Haven, but reached out to them again this morning.

I will say, Royce at Ivy Creek has been SUPER about getting back to me. Also Vanessa from Windsor Manor got back to me very promptly, but says they don’t have any availability right now; she invited me to come and take a look anyway, which I will probably do.

Thanks Again!

Western Monkey County past Poolesville, but Potomac Riverside Stables is under $600 ($500 or so), big indoor, good hacking out and excellent hay. Little drama.

Oh, is there a new barn owner? If not, then “little drama” certainly wasn’t my experience when I boarded there.

Does anyone know what the current boarding rates are for Bucks Haven? They don’t post their rates.

I would seriously avoid this barn. The owners are not horse people and are crazy hoarders, junk everywhere. Lots of things for horses to get injured by. They also blast loud christian rock from their house (located right in the middle of the farm) across the entire place…

I have not been to Tara Equestrian’s new facility, but I leased a horse out to the owner (Ashley) and was very pleased at the care she took of my horse. She was very communicative and the horse came back looking great after several months of being used in lessons.
