Inside Nature's Giants: The Thoroughbred. A Documentary

I did try and say something about that in my previous posts. The TB is different and I think this has a lot to do with performance in sporthorses. But there is no science for my theory on why I think this way. I just know there is somethng there that gives long after others stop.

There is a good possibility that the Irish genetics researchers are working on sport horse/jumpers now. At least her team was getting samples from some Irish sport breeders who have had successful eventers.

Well, after putting it off and putting it off (where in the world was I going to find 45 minutes to sit down and watch the video  ), all I can say is holy smokes!!! Anyone involved with horses should sit down and watch it! Absolutely incredible! Thanks for posting the link, Equilibrium.

Viney, thanks for the link on the research, as well. Not surprising that the TB really is different, though eh? What you believed all along <smile>.

We (Jos and I) got to stay in Newmarket at the Jockey Club in February and the curator was kind enough to give us a tour of all the artwork and the rooms and explain the history. If ever you get the chance, it’s well worth going and seeing.

I realize the horse was not euthanized for the documentary. I am still sorry that he broke down and had to be euthanized. But what a contribution!

That was cool. I’d love to see more detailed dissections. Anyone know of any on the internet ?

I posted the link to my FB wall, and emailed to the FB ‘contras’ in my rolodex.
