Inspirational: rider with only one leg

I am amazed at the courage of some riders, and the calm kindness of some horses.

I went to a large Paint show over the weekend, and in the adult walk/jog class there was a woman rider with only one leg. I didn’t even notice it until they lined up for their placings at the end. It literally took my breath away, and then I sat there and cried.

Once the class was over she rode out, and transferred from the horse to her scooter. Bless his heart, he stood like a stone, and then she drove off with him beside her, his head down by her shoulder.

You know how some horses are worth their weight in gold? That horse was priceless! It was very cool.

So sweet and definitely a tribute to the breed!

That’s fantastic. I have a rider with one leg in our barn. She can ride better one legged than most can with two.

There is a women who is very successful that rides the APHA circuit who lost her leg in a motorcycle accident. She rides with Laren Dubin of Dubin Farms (amazing people btw)

Here is a little piece on her. http://dubinfarms.com/abbey.html
