I just want to improve myself so that I can help my students more. I teach beginners and I think that I get more excited then they do when they pass those equestrian milestones 
Since my focus isn’t showing, I think that a certification would help differentiate me from others.
Well, I’m going to get the ball rolling. I’ve contacted the USDF about any upcoming workshops and see how that goes and then from there I guess the pre-certs are next. Thanks to everyone for the insight - good thread!
