Irish Sport Horses
Followup to original post - regarding Brandenburg’s Windstar:

 1. Anecdotally, he threw “quirky” foals. Was this just characteristic of this horse, or a IDSH type characteristic?
 2. Degenerative arthritis scares me and is frequently genetic (probably recessive, but genetic). How frequent does this outcome occur in IDSH bloodlines? Is there a characteristic bloodline to avoid? Or was this a random occurrence which all horses are subject to?
His problems were due to injury - quote from his owner:

“Resulting from past injury, his condition had progressed to the point where we owed it to him to make the only humane decision.”

Also, with an IDSH, you have ID and another breed(s). The ID are known for good constitutions, bone and feet.

Where are you located? Sophie is by TOTB https://picasaweb.google.com/carolp3231/Sophie#5467746109601587538

FWIW, she is just under 16 hands with a little less than 9 inches of bone. I don’t event, but OMG can she get that butt in gear and gallop

I am in Blacksburg, VA. TOTB has been a very prepotent sire - I would breed the same mare back to him if he were not retired. And if the market were not so down:(

I like him! That’s one to watch

He is available frozen. I keep thinking of breeding him to Sophie’s mom and freezing the embryo
