Is this saddle worth showing the fitter? Updated photos and second saddle

I kind of thought the same but more experienced dressagers thought otherwise.

I have only ridden in the helen. It felt great. I will ride in the Roma this week. Both are for sale new for the same price. The shop owner was saying the helen was a much better deal

It would be good to ride in both of them back-to-back, at all gaits, just to see which one you feel the best in, that lets you feel secure and like you can use your aids properly. (This is assuming that the saddle fitter thinks they both fit well).

You should go with the saddle that fits the horse and you the best and not be swayed by which might be the better deal. They both look like beautiful, well-made saddles.

I think the second saddle is going to put you in the backseat, unless you have a very long lower leg. Or unless you can push it back a bit farther. It looks like you could from the pictures but I’m not there to judge. Notice that if you drew two vertical lines down from where your seat bones will settle in the saddle and your stirrup bar, in the second saddle the lines are further apart. You might find that you are posting or sitting against the stirrup when you ride, especially if the balance is a little high in front, which it looks like it is.

The first is not terrible after you moved it back.

These saddles have very different balance points. The prestige has a fwd sweet spot (on purpose, it’s a design feature). The other is more central.
It is personal preference for you and your horse.
Pay attention to how your leg hangs, comparatively between the saddles.
To my eye, they both look like they fit reasonably well. And yes, the girth is still too short

Just a final update. The Saddle fitter deemed the X-helen to be the winner. Small adjustment of flocking, tree was good as is. We’ve had 2 lessons in it and one horse trial and the horse is very happy in it. We upped our dressage score nearly 8 points compared to the Sommer that he was objecting the month prior.

Thank you for your insights!
