ISO budget sun shirts

I like the Dover brand. They are around $55 I think.[/QUOTE]

Yup, you can get them for $49.95 with their sale catalog!

These are a great shirt for a little less. I have a few of these and they run a little looser which is nice for a breezy feel. They’re definitely not as soft as the $$$ ones, but they get the job done.

That is not a sun shirt. There is no mention of SPF or UV protection.

I just bought a TS shirt on sale in the apricot color. It’s very pretty, but even in XL, the sleeves are short and don’t quite reach my wrists, so OP, it probably wouldn’t work for you.

On the other hand, the Kassel brand (I hope I got that right–the Danish company) have very long sleeves and a longer length to tuck in to low rise breeches. I don’t see them on sale, though. They are $$$.

I also scour the Sierra Tradig ost website for deals and have been very happy with the shirts I bought there. They are button up shirts, and not the zip up jersey kind.

I got curious about this and did some research awhile back. Fun fact, polyester contains a benzene ring which makes it naturally sun protective!

The reason a lot of companies don’t include a specific number of UPF rating is because it is expensive to get it tested for that precise number :(. If you get any polyester shirt it will provide a good amount of protection. If you really want to know the number of UPF protection, you have to pay more, but some has been good enough for me!
