ISO Dressage Trainer in NJ

Thanks all for the advice so far. Does anyone know of anyone in Monmouth or Ocean counties more toward the shore?

I’ve been to shows at Good Times Farm and the people there have been super nice, but definitely not fancy. Lisa Bassilini is at Jersey Palms. Both in Jackson, which may be closer to the area you’re looking at. Check out the ESDCTA website (local GMO); you may be able to start your search there. Unfortunately, many farms in NJ don’t have websites like in other areas of the country. We are a very horsey dense area, but many of the bigger names are in Hunterdon Co. Welcome to town!

Yes, I train with Lisa Bassilini at Jersey Palms Farm, Jackson NJ . She is a Gold Medalist who is extremely good friends with both Lauren Chumley and Bridget Hay. But it will depend on what your aspirations are. Lisa is a single mother so she doesn’t go to Florida. Our show people are all working adult amateurs and we do only recognized shows but only go up to Saugerties to show at regionals as with jobs everyone cannot take a week off at a time to show at away shows.
Lisa has trained horses including warmbloods, TBs, Friesians, Pres, and Draft Crosses. She and Lauren joke as to who shows the most non-warmbloods, lol Lisa currently is showing a Pre Stallion Grand Prix and is aiming there with the Friesian she is showing presently 4th level. She trains many of the clients horses during the week who work. She is a positive lesson teacher, keeps you working hard, but doesn’t ever yell or be demeaning. Her lessons leave me wanting another.

We also have clinics with Heather Mason, Julio Mendoza<love him> among others. Lisa takes lesson from Heather monthly herself.

Jersey Palms is not a super fancy barn, but the care is excellent and we do have indoor, out door and trails for light trail riding. I have boarded there for 4+ years and no plans to leave.
Any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

PS: Lisa doesn’t promote herself so she isn’t super well known, she is too busy riding, training and then taking care of her little girl at night. The owner, Karin Worm, is an L-judge and a very accomplished rider herself.
