It is not about the ribbons but..... we "won" one!!!

[sorry to steal the thread but my questions fit here really well!]

how well marked are the courses? I’m worried about getting lost!

I’ll be doing Optimum Time w/ optional fences, Handy Hunter pair and individual, and the Trail. I can’t wait! The ponies are all clipped and groomed up. Casual attire accepted; since it will be 80 degrees I was planning on a navy polo, breeches, and tall boots?

Any other advice? My first hunt was a BLAST and I’m sure this should be the same. It’s a great group of people that really understand and accept some of us are just learning [I sheepishly walked up to the Masters and asked for help with my stock tie ] Thank you so much!

it is great! congratulation! cna you posting some photos? I would like see your pony! good luck

naters, enjoy your ribon:) display it prominently!

scpezold, 4 easy steps to load mule is a good ole boy story. I’ve never seen it done that way, but knowing some of the folks I ride with, I wouldn’t put it past them to try:D: I expect mule would prevail to detriment of all.

Hunter paces are set up to be fun, so don’t worry about anything.
Report back about the splendid time you had.

My team has gone off course and we lived to joke about it. If you haven’t seen a marker for a half hour then you would be wise to turn around and go find one. (Note to organizers: dark blue ribbons in dark woods are hard to see.)

Another time I came alone, was partnered with another single, and off we went. A couple monts before I had gotten my OTTB that had been fed to look like a warmblood, now on a diet changing shape, so every 10 minutes I had to dismount and put pad back under wide tree saddle:eek: much annoyance to partner. We came in 1 minute 38 seconds over optimum but some other team was closer. But we had fun making up time between stops!

Oh, yes, definitely… The folks at Belle Meade have been after me to go out with them, but I think I will stick to the hilltopping group

Still no ribbon yet… hoping the organizers will call me back soon!!! Really would love to have that ribbon!!! :frowning:

Ha! I should have known. I am so gullable.

3 gold stars for me: Yesterday, I got my non traveling beasty ON THE TRAILER…AND THAN…I WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE DOORS…AND THAN…WE DROVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND CAME BACK…AND THAN…(this part is extrmemly important)WE UNLOADED AND RELOADED! You cannot even begin to understand my elation!

Thank you Chris Cox!

Saturday we were blessed with gorgeous weather and I had a blast!

Great course with lots of jumps; the ponies thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Cannot wait for my next one!

Where was the pace held that you did on Saturday?

Our hunt had ours and the weather was little warm but still nice.

I went with Commonwealth Foxhounds at Wirtland. What a gorgeous property and piece of land they have there.

I got the ribbon!!!

Linda was very nice to leave it for me on her doorstep, so I could pick it up!!!

Very excited!
