Brown stuff
You guys inspire me! My up & Comer is a very light chestnut dunn w/ white blanket. How gorgeous would he look in a dark brown saddle with me in a brown jacket -cream pants!!! He is so flashy - why not go all the way! lol

That is a gorgeous coat. I’ve always been very conservative in my turn out in the past. Probably because my trainer was a stickler for such things. When I do get back in to the show ring, I’m going to go wild! Someone at TOB posted a picture of herself wearing a black shirt. My old trainer would die, but she looked gorgeous.
These coats are all yummy, but they are “hunt” style coats. I don’t mean just the 2 vents, but also the length, the waist, etc.
I want a dark green DRESSAGE coat. I’ll even take a frock. I can’t do brown (I ride a black and white pinto WB), right now I have a black frock and a dark blue dressage coat.
What’s the difference between a coat and a frock?
Well, we did great at the show yesterday. I’ve been with the new trainer for 2 mos. and in Feb. got a 56 on the same test. Yesterday we got a 64 and won the class. I’m very pleased. No one said a thing about the brown. I did get 2 ‘beautiful turnout’ comments, but no one said “is that brown”? or anything negative at all. It looked really nice, I’ll post pics when I get them back.

It’s my understanding that a “frock” is the more hunter style coat, but cut a little longer than a hunt coat. The dressage cut coats usually have a waist seam, rather than just darts at the waist. There may be other definitions…
PF, If you want a true dressage cut, I think you will have to have one made. I searched quite a bit and wasn’t able to find anything but black and navy. The grey Pikuer coat never came up when I was searching, so maybe there are more out there.
Pikeur Diana Chocolate Brown
The Ebay Shop Classic Dressage Marbella has many good buys! I hope this link works! They have the Diana in chocolate brown with gold buttons.

Where are those show pictures, kahjul??
Still waiting. My son took some on his cell phone, but…I’m waiting for the ones from the photographer to come. Keep checking, they are supposed to be here before the end of the week.

To all:
Pics from our show-please be kind
My thoughts, exactly. When I’m ready to show FEI, I’m going to have an eggplant purple shadbelly made. Probably have to go with a black top hat, but that’s okay - it’ll still match my boots.
I made a shadbelly about 13 years ago. It was complicated but I got it done.
You go…

I just bought a chocolate coat, didn’t opt to have one made, so I went double vented, but did get it altered so it hangs a bit longer. Anyways, I got it to go with my…chocolate brown top hat!!! My first show in it is Saturday. I haven’t told my trainer 'cause I think she’ll flip. It really looks classy, but it ain’t black!! (I should also mention that I probably shouldn’t be wearing a top hat, but then again, I shouldn’t be wearing brown or riding a draft X either…OOHH aunt esther)[/QUOTE]
Have fun… WOULD LOVE TO SEE A PICTURE of you at the show… Sounds divine!
love it
