OH GOD! sending thoughts and hugs to Tamera and her family
Sending hugs. Not much else I can say.
I’m about 100% positive Tamara will go on to make a great life for herself and her family, in honor of her wonderful husband.
But the road now is hard.
We need to help, somehow.
Deepest sympathies to you and your family. Praying for comfort and support for the weeks and years to come. Terrible loss.

Tamara lost her wonderful husband Calvin very unexpectedly and tragically this morning. Please hold her and Maria and Wyatt and Mariella and their extended family in your thoughts and prayers.
Oh noooooooo!!! Jingles and prayers for her to have the strength to copie with this…
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone.
Prevent the dog barking with a juicy bone
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling in the sky that He is dead,
Put crepe bows round the necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever, I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun.
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
W. H. Auden
Dear Tamara, I am praying hard for you and your family.
Sympathies to family and friends. What a horrible thing to have happen.
Tamara –
What a senseless thing to happen to such a good man. Your love for him is so obvious in your posts – my heart is breaking for your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Godspeed Calvin.
Condolences to Tamara and her family

Well, as Tamara is herself a “gift” to COTH. . .
Would someone be willing to set up a PayPal and spearhead some kind of group effort to send, I don’t know, a gift basket of REAL food (not a bunch of sample jars of mustard, etc.) that the family could tap into for a meal? I cannot remember who did the gift basket that BP sent when my sister died, but it was a roast and a bunch of other food that could either be eaten immediately or refrigerated for later meals. It was incredible.
Just a thought - either that or if anyone knows the particulars - like would she prefer flowers for the service or a donation in his name to a favorite charity? Just thinking out loud.
This is so awful. She’s been in my thoughts since I read this.
Sorry if this has been addressed, I have a lot of pages to read but this is a great idea and count me in
You don’t often meet people in life of whom you instantly say “these are good people; I look forward to getting to know them”. But that happened on my first visit to Production Acres. Over the years since then, I’ve grown to just appreciate the Howards as amusing, interesting, intelligent, thoughtful, giving … very alive people.
And now this.
I will never understand it.
People have wished Tamara and her children strength and peace. Strength is never a question in the Howard family, that base is covered. Peace, alas, will be a long time in coming.

Well said and so very true. Pretty much mirrors my experience as well. Always considered myself lucky to have found that such people still exist.
So deeply sorry…may peace find you soon.
I am so sorry for your loss.
((((Tamara))))
Godspeed to your husband.
Peace to all who knew him.
I am so very, very sorry to hear of this horrible, and tragic, senseless loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Though we don’t know one another, I have always appreciated your extensive knowledge and sharp wit.
I wish you and your family peace.

Tamara - I don’t know you yet still find myself at a loss for words. It’s comforting to know you have such a strong support system. Your personal strength is inspirational. Count me among the many that would drive across several states to stand by you if you need someone to lean on. If there is anything that can be done to help you, please let us know.
I saw this quote this morning and it seemed appropriate for Tamara and her Calvin:
“Unless it is mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it’s a waste of time. There are too many mediocre things in life – love should not be one of them.” ~Anonymous
Tamara, I’m so, so sorry. I can’t even imagine how awful this must be. Godspeed, Calvin.
