So happy to see the update! Jingles for continued healing and a joyous reunion with his brother. He’s a beautiful guy!!
He says “Dis not brother. Dis imposter!”
Meanwhile the problem child in question happily dug into a little bit of chicken baby food - his first food in almost 48 hours. He’s still high as a kite after the sedation. He’s lounging in the living room with me instead of returning to his hiding spot under my bed, so hopefully that’s a good sign. It’s been about an hour and the food has stayed down, so keeping fingers crossed that the meds and treatment today will have him on the mend.
Aww, thanks for the update and sharing the reunion!! Yep, brother smells really different than he did when he left. Hopefully, all the vet smells will wear off quickly and they’ll be best buds again.
Please keep us posted on how it goes over the next few days. More photos of your two darling boys would be very welcome!!
Knocking on wood, but hopefully we’re in the clear now. A few days of bland diet, nausea meds and probiotics seems to have done the trick. He’s back on his usual amounts of regular food and doing well.
Photo for tax because these two tiny menaces are too damn precious.
Resurrecting the thread exactly a year later… unfortunately, now his brother needs jingles. Ended up at the vet with what appears to be first onset of idiopathic cystitis. No UTI or blockage that we can find, thankfully, but little dude is so unwell and I’m a wreck.
He’s on meds and we’re making a diet change/some environmental adjustments to try to reduce stress. Just hate seeing him so uncomfortable.
jingling for such a handsome kitty. Love his face markings.
I had a kitty that went thru the same thing. Idiopathic cystitis and blockages. Finally put him on prozac and what a difference!!! I got my kitty back. Also if he has those urinary issues try the Royal Canin Renal So Calming Diet. It worked for my Duncan. It’s pricey but worth it.
He is so cute! I hope he feels better soon!
North Carolina State University has recently developed a protocol for treating idiopathic feline cystitis with radiation. From what I’ve read it’s very effective and other vet schools and some private corporations are now using it. Here are two links:
He’s a beauty and looks like a kitty i had for 21 years. Sending many jingles!
Jingles from TN to that sweet kitty!
More jingles from TN!
Jingles from me and all the kitties!
JIngles for that handsome guy!
Huge Hoosier Jingles for your handsome man.
Didn’t want his Bro to be the only one racking up vet bills?
Knocking on all the wood, but appears to be another win for the COTH jingles! Thank you everyone.
My buddy is 5 weeks out from his episode and doing well. Fingers crossed the prescription diet and environment changes continue to do the trick to prevent recurrence. He’s back to his normal hungry, playful self and has resumed his regularly scheduled judgement of me from his preferred perch on top of the fridge.
YAY! That is good news.
I love his markings and it looks like he has a little smile on his face.
Just some kitten spam for tax… their gotcha day (2020) was this past week so all their baby pictures are popping up in my camera roll.
Those ears! They can hear space transmissions. Or mousies.
“Love to eat them mousies,
Mousies what I love to eat.
Bite they little heads off,
Nibble on the tiny feet.”
