I don’t know anything about these individuals but honestly this type of stuff ( stealing money from sales) happens often with trainers- ( look at the recent cases in USEF) yet many/most don’t get called out, accused, set down etc. A friend of mine rode with a trainer in the mid Atlantic who is in all sorts of trouble lately for other things and she told me how he would import horses under lied about costs to clients to thrown in some horses for “free” for himself - sold horses left and right and pocketed the money or lied and told the owners he sold them for x and pocketed y- stole and stole - yet the current issues and the laundry list of behavior and criminal charges ( not relating to horses ) has done nothing - USEF has never stepped in- the community always supports this person- even those who were ripped off so badly do nothing- so I’m not sure what I think about any of this anymore- it is like real life some are caught and punished while others are not and almost seemingly rewarded for bad/criminal behavior. I am glad though you are sticking with your feelings on the subject and being true to our voice. i don’t want to ever be jaded - I just feel like the system is so arbitrary and inconsistent it makes it hard to rally against someone when someone worse gets away with it and those rallying against one person you find out fawn over the other wrong doer? does that make sense?
He does not have a huge following. It is a handful of people that like him. Con artists are good and telling people what they want to hear. IMO Both of these con artists have pulled other cons before and after prison. The club in mention is not a large club …
i would think that it might be a question for the VHSA associate … if he is a member in good standing or not.

I am a victim of Josh Cardine.
I have NEVER been made whole in any way. He and his partner took a horse from state to state to avoid me and my claim, as the stallion owner, afforded under the Law. It was a wild goose chase for years. My legal claims timed out while I searched remote areas of each state for their next hiding place. They made new victims at every turn.
Josh Cardine and his partner had the nerve to show the horse in three states in shows sanctioned by the USEF including Devon. They forged ownership and and breeding certificates to compete for fame and fortune in the IHF. I publically challenged them and blocked their rig at the Devon Horse Show. They flew under the radar, passed bad checks, went to my farm to remove a horse under cover of darkness, left bills unpaid, leased my horse. Never received restitution. The horse was seized by Federal Court while they were doing time in Federal Prison and I was forced to buy back MY HORSE when she came up for auction. No restitution in 20 + years.
Think about it…NO WAY should these criminals ever set foot on the grounds of a sanctioned horse show. If you can’t stand against FRAUD in this sport then You are responsible for giving cover for the convicted criminals in this sport. Just Say NO!!!
TWF - that is awful. It is incredible the behaviors that are tolerated in the horse world compared to “normal, non-crimnal society.”

Along these same lines…he bought a stallion from Champlain ponies (Randy and Amy McCoy) and dropped their prefix and added his Meadowbrook. The stallion? Meadowbrook Special Edition. Should be Champlain Special Edition.
Josh Cardine has NOT changed at all. I have worked in the farm where he is currently 2020 and personally whitenessed him grossly physically abusing horses and ponies.
Animal control has been called on him, cases open and in court and removed horses from his care as well as dogs in the past five years in Virginia Beach and Suffolk.
He is scamming ‘pony moms’ teaching riding lessons, training and breeding. He shows his horses under Cavalier Farms, LLC. THE FARM OWNER IS WELL AWARE AND HAS AGREED TO ALLOW HIM To do THIS UNDER HIS LLC.
He solicites other trainers customers and has recently been release from rehabilitation for Drug and alcohol abuse. He had no teeth due to long term drug use.
Why would anyone allow him to teach their child or be part of a club. There are upstanding alternatives.
He is a con. No way does VHSA, USEF OR ANY HORSE PERSON Ever WANT HIM REINSTATED. HIS IS A TOTAL WACK JOB.
The animals he has abused the children he has harmed and the victims he has, need protected from this scumbag.
