Godwin’s Law has been satisfied… sign of a good thread!
I certainly have no vested interest in either side here, since I don’t live in the States, am in a profession completely unrelated to horses (but strangely enough, dealt with complex mental health including delusional disorders and personality disorders, for the record, until I switched streams), and alas, am not known to The George.
Besides, doesn’t “Freedom of Speech” have a caveat that you can say what ever you like, so long as it doesn’t harm the reputation of another person or entity in a way that causes financial suffering or distress, without the ability to prove that what is being said is true?
meh I don’t think GM is suffering any financial hardships because Amy doesn’t like him. Fun fact, lots of people don’t like George. This isn’t even the worst thing said about him by a long shot. And yet he never wants for an audience or a paycheck.
this is however 100% the most attention this girl has ever gotten in her life :lol: it’s all so hard to follow but the owners did take Cradilo back, right? This has ar least 70% of the awkwardness of Doug Spink and Capone.
(Short answer: Freedom of speech means the government can’t abridge free speech. “Government funded” entities - public universities, companies, enterprises, etc. - and the government itself, cannot restrict free speech. It has absolutely nothing to do with private companies or individuals who have beef with one other.)
Hence the 70%. But very much the same you aren’t actually anyone anyone knows or has any interest in but you’ve somehow concocted this grand fairytale of oppression with yourself as Cinderella, and also there’s a shiny stallion involved who is your soul mate (sometimes more mate than soul, zing!) And reason for being and the baddies are conspiring to hide all your glories from the world.
So true! As others have expressed, freedom of speech does not mean you can say you want with pure immunity. As we all know you cannot yell, Fire, in a movie theater. The 1[SUP]st[/SUP]Amendment referred to religious freedom, freedom of the press and the right to assemble. First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
For someone who claims to have worked for congressional member and is well educated and smart, etc., one should know the extent to which the first amendment applies. While I do not believe GM cares what AH posts, she has clearly has made libelous statements about him and defamed him and she has done so to others including Erik H. She may want to consult another lawyer, yet again, as she could be headed for another lawsuit or two.
For AH’s reference: Libel is a method of defamation expressed by print, writing, pictures, signs, effigies, or any communication embodied in physical form that is injurious to a person’s reputation, exposes a person to public hatred, contempt or ridicule, or injures a person in his/her business or profession.Slander is a false statement, usually made orally, which defames another person. Unlike libel, damages from slander are not presumed and must be proven by the party suing.Defamation is a statement that injures a third party’s reputation. The tort of defamation includes both libel (written statements) and slander (spoken statements). All three are tortious.
All of the freedom of speech issues aside, Ms. Hunter continues to not address ANY of the points made and facts shared in this thread and further portrays herself as the victim. No one has tried to silence her. She continues to bring up issues that were not even mentioned in this thread. They further show her shady side, complicated legal past and “emotional complex.” She continues to go full throttle down the rabbit hole that GM caused all of her problems when she in fact is the source of her issues, whether from swindling others, lack of talent or her current, clearly unstable mental health.
There is no doubt that all of this attention is satisfying to her and she for some unexplained reason finds this negative attention to be boosting her ego and reputation. Her responses are a sad attempt to shift the conversation to her message and victimhood and away from who she really is and what she has done to harm others.
I just read the part about Fatima’s alleged abuse. Isn’t the Pavilion in New York? (North Salem). Supposedly she dropped the horse off herself, yet she doesn’t remember even in what state? Also, it’s Eric Hasbrouck. At least spell his name properly. @Amy Hunter
Usually open-ended suspensions are for non-payment issues. Not sure how to go digging through the records on the USEF site now to find out if that’s the case here.
