Jumper Conspiracy?

The most telling of all the videos though is this one, of Koganna… The Akhal Teke x Westfalen mare who is the dam of the other two…

https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=134s&v=qzS8zIRxi28

She’s shiny and well groomed and fed, and sort of cute right up until she starts trotting and cantering and spinning. How in the world did anyone reach the conclusion that this mare should be bred?!? Does the woman have impaired vision in addition to the other “issues?”

None of these liberty videos are at all flattering to the horses. I’m sort of puzzled why they’re public? Why not show just the ridden video which cast the horses in much better lights?

I swear that both videos said hearts yesterday

I could be seeing things in a Thanksgiving wine haze but I’m pretty sure.

Huh?
Not from what I saw:
(CAVEAT: I am no WorldClass rider, but I can claim a good eye)

12yo mare not looking much like a World Beater here.
IIWM, this would NOT be the Sale Vid
Short-strided at the trot, Meh canter & that headtossing…

& here we have a kinda NP/Maestro O/F vid:

That is what we call growing old Gracefully. Thank you for helping this magnificent horse.

Nice quiet seat and hands, too.

I find it really insane NP’s name has made it onto this thread. But I get the parallels. And Carpathia and Koganna sort of remind me of one another.

Sidenote… Koganna has a decent walk. But the trot and cantering… Does it look like some sort of si injury in addition to Akhal Teke conformation challenges? Looks like that movement was passed on to both colts though… Ace of Hearts is certainly worse though. Maybe the Teke conformation with the swan neck, upright shoulder and long back makes them more vulnerable to SI injury.

well you can only do so much with what you have (ie make a horse a better mover) but I personally find the ridden videos much more flattering

How about this ridden video?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VuQ9LgbIuWs

I’m pretty sure the video explains why that mare appears to have some sort of SI problem - poor girl.

That horse isn’t my cup of tea but I find the ridden videos much more professional than the liberty ones

Well, the gold mine of videos make clear that with her longing skills, keen eye for conformation, ability to market horses, breeding brilliance and riding ability, there really should be no question that GM is to blame for the failure of her business and career. What other, reasonable explanation could there be??

Maybe this explains it:

Amy is particularly proud of her farrier ability (the most difficult work she does in the horse world!) and the technical shoeing of her own horses, including Sweet Baby James, Cradilo and Deluca Ace while showing at the Grand Prix level. Though she has studied farrier science since the age of 13 and has practiced trimming inconsistently for about 25 years, she began shoeing her own horses over 15 years ago out of the desire to receive the farrier work she needed in a remote area for the sake of soundness and movement (and her shoers were getting tired of her asking them to shoe in a very specific way!) She has now studied under some of the top shoers in the world, and has been told she is shoeing at a level right beside some of the best!

I retract.
She has clearly surpassed the Maestro, not only in all aspects of breeding/training/riding/making Sales videos, but she is a Master(Maestro?)Farrier too.

@vxf111 Agreed, but the hyperbole in a lot of the vids is pretty offputting in itself.
STFU & let the horse speak for itself!
Looks like someone provided that advice since some of them do not go on & on & on… ad nauseum

who brags in a press realese (to what media outlets?! The sale of a random horse isn’t newsworthy) about jumping out of the ring and being embroiled in a LEGAL BATTLE as reasons a stallion is famous?!

Having spent a holiday weekend poking around her site, she’s clearly not 100% there and is incapable of expressing ANY thought with brevity or focus. Everything is a meandering tome, from her “press releases” to what should be a 2 paragraph description of bloodlines. I’m sure she’s completely oblivious but reading her website paints a picture of pretty significant communication issues that may have played a part in the behavior she reads as “blackballing.” She seems EXHAUSTING and fairly tone deaf and I imagine it’s way more than most clients/buyers/trainers are willing to deal with.

When I began to watch this I thought it was okay and hate to see people make fun of people riding… til I got to the end! lol

Alas, no video from this day, but still a reason to brag (WTF?). Bolding mine.

The Ledges indoor warm up ring is tiny and chaotic. It was an intense environment to test a gigantic stallion trying out his first rated jumping show in. But, it's what there is relatively close in the winter, so we were giving it a go and working on our final warm up oxer for our first 4' class. About a stride out from the fence and moving with quite a bit of momentum because of the short approach, a groom casually walked behind the large oxer toting along a small gray pony. Rather than stop, Cradilo decided he would jump the oxer and the pony who suddenly appeared on the back side of the fence. He launched himself into the air (fortunately for the pony and groom) handily clearing them both, and literally catapulted me straight up out of the stirrups. I continued on a couple of feet into the air, and landed on my head. By some miracle I was not seriously hurt, and though I was sore (and would be for a few weeks) I managed to get back on and finish with a good solid ride. But, I had never in my life felt hind end power like that, nor did I know it was even possible. It opened my eyes to how a big jump could feel; and was the beginning of what would prove to be a dramatic and continuously entertaining show jumping career for Cradilo and I.

Wow…couldn’t finish the blog or the video. But I have to ask myself how is it that, after 30+ years as a professional doing the A/AA shows in the Greater Chicago land area, I have no idea who this woman is??? I’m old! Thought I knew the Chicago/Wisconsin crowd well…
