Jumper Conspiracy?

He didn’t pull. He was way too lazy on the flat for my medical conditons, which is why if I import again, I’m flying over to Europe to try horses in person. Completely misrepresented. Dirty stopper. Would freak out on trails or riding in outdoor by himself, which I was assured in both cases never occurred. Horse had only been with a group in trails as evidenced by her FB pictures. Would freak out and almost bolt or rip my arm or my dad’s arm off trying to apply fly spry or show sheen. Would fidget in the aisles non stop while tacking. Someone had to hold him while I was tacking. He bopped my in the nose and face quite a few times from being sort of nuts in the crossties.

When he got to the dealer’s, she admitted that he was “nuts”…used “sale-friendly” terms regarding fly spray freak outs, etc…everything that I told her about what he did with me.

Home he got is a nice person but can’t ride him because he’s too difficult. Then he went lame or had some leg injury at her place…always super sound with me. So basically he’s a pasture ornament. And the other horse she bought from the same dealer she is now trying to sell as he is unrideable.

Yeah, that’s me. Horse could jump 1.50m with a pro and 1.20m-1.40m with it’s original amateur owner and myself. He was way more than $25k. Budget with import and vetting was mid-five figures. With the ridiculous boarding and catering only to the multi-multi-millionaires here in Chicago/N.IL, I can’t afford to keep that up for more than 2-3 years…and I don’t even care about showing and never have. And the horse was schooling PSG and starting passage and piaffe. I think I’m a way better dressage rider than anyone in H/J land as dressage doesn’t exist in this discipline.

Horse turned out to be grossly misrepresented, which was my fault for not going to Europe and trying horses, which I would do upon importing again.

It is truly shocking to me that your bargain unicorn was not what he was sold to be. Truly shocked.

yeah and I bet you’re NOT a better dressage rider than anyone else in H/J land! You know some humility would certainly go a long way into making your stories sound better [edit]

I’m sorry, but now I’m totally confused. When we last left off, you had enough saved for one year of expenses which is why we all recommended you lease a horse. Your budget certainly changed as the story progressed. Which is fine, hey, we’ve all been in a place where we realize what we want is kind of expensive.

I think the stats on the horse you outlined here are not in keeping with the videos of the horse that were found. But he looked like a nice enough boy and I think despite your story changing quite a bit here, a lot of people were rooting for you to have a good experience.

Your post above leaves me very confused. On your FB you posted (publicly, not privately) nothing but positive things about your very sweet looking horse. And when you sold him, you posted pictures of him longingly and seemingly blamed other folks for your needing to sell him. Your profile picture is still a sweet picture of the two of you. You actually said in a post that the two of you did so well together and that he will always be your dream first horse. Doesn’t really seem consistent with what you posted above.

I think you will continue to struggle with folks on this board bc you tend to change your story a bit. People on here know how to do research online and do not tolerate shams.

You also make very strong claims about your riding that maybe aren’t true. I think we could all agree that if you were half the dressage rider you purported to be, you could install that third or fourth level flat work you so desperately needed on a jumper yourself.

But I think where you really lost people is with your go fund me campaign that happened right when the horse was purchased for an amount almost exactly the same as what you paid for your horse, but for medical reasons. I think people found that really distasteful. I thought the fact you didn’t raise money on it to me, indicated that we are not the only ones with some questions about your situation.

We can all sympathize that you have major medical issues that are surely so emotionally and physically draining. We can all understand needing a special kind of horse for those needs. But I think we all struggled with some of the twists and turns in your stories and what looks like some pretty duplicitous behavior.
