I have heard from this forum that the Cervia was a model that was basically a flop for Amerigo and is not even made by them any longer.
I have looked at this saddle and am intrigued by all the newer options out there like WOW, Bua, etc. There is so much out there to research. How do you like this saddle? Does it bother you that there is less underneath the flap? Did you have it customized for your horse’s short back or is it off the shelf?
Look at hastilow too. My horse is short backed with withers and serious shoulders and while I am not super long (5’7") but really like a forward flap. I’m pretty happy with my new hastilow jump saddle…
I LOVE this saddle; worth every penny. Quality is exceptional and two years later, it still looks new. I like that there’s some innovative technology in the design, while still having that traditional appearance.
I bought it off the rack to fit my previous horse and got lucky that it is about as close to perfect as you’re going to get for my new guy. Fits a very wide range of horses, obviously not “perfectly” on every single one, but close enough.
If you’re someone who likes a really built up saddle (e.g. more like the French style) with lots of padding and substantial knee rolls, this is probably not the saddle for you. It does absolutely nothing to hold you in place. It neither helps nor hinders you in having a correct position. Works perfect for me as I have issues with my knees swelling in the more built up saddles, but I am a pretty fit and balanced rider so don’t necessarily need the extra help from a saddle that holds you in place.
