Just a random question - does anyone breed draft crosses for sport?

Just adding. I was happy with ALL of the TB (stud) X Clyde horses we bred, but I agree …3/4 TB or more is MUCH more athletic and marketable. Out here in Oklahoma/Ks. a lot of people hunt (coyote) pure or 1/2 draft, but they are rarely seen after the first gallop. I’m sure they enjoy the scenery though!! We are loving the 3/4 TB, Irish Sport Horse youngsters we have bred. They have TB conformation and movement and puppy dog dispositions. Very athletic, but incredibly easy to live with. Some are by Seattle Blues (ISH) out of TB mares and others are by Jagged Illusion (TB) out of 1/2 TB (ISH mares. The mix doesn’t seem to depend on which parent is the TB.

Black Fox Farm in MD does: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Black-Fox-Farm-Sporthorses/381800868554467
They don’t seem to have a separate website, but I found an old ad for their stallion BFF Incognito here: http://www.equiery.com/2007StallionStation/source/bffincognito.htm

My sister breeds draft crosses for fox hunting. She breeds for good minds, size, and the ability to hunt all day. She also manages to produce good moving, good looking offspring! She has TB and half TB mares. She usually will breed the TB mares to a Half Draft Stallion - there are several nice ones in the area; and the Draft X mares to one of several good-minded TBs, producing youngsters that are 3/4 TB, 1/4 draft, although she does breed half and halfs from time to time.

Her babies have gone on to fox hunt, event, do dressage and sometimes all of the above! She doesn’t have a big operation, but usually has a youngster or two available. She is located in Central MD. If you want contact info and/or pics, PM me.
