I know the feeling of not trusting the drivers on the road. I also live in a rural area where road traffic has increased and drivers don’t understand the need to slow down around horses. There are roads that used to connect nice loops that I won’t ride along any more because traffic has made me uncomfortable.
Trust your gut.
If you want to be able to ride, give the boarding stable a try. Worst case it’s not what you hoped and you can just bring your horse home. 20min isn’t far at all and you will surely meet new friends.
I wish there was an indoor offering board 20min away from me. Instead I am bracing for a winter of riding in the rain.
next ones 40 minutes away the opposite direction of my work so I’m not sure what to do now. Does the weather put you off if it’s very windy/lots of rain? Worst part is not hearing the traffic and boggy fields isn’t it! Do you use fields in the winter?
