Keeping horses on complete feed occupied during stall time

It was one of those great ideas born of desperation. Off to the left of the hay feeder is a rotted, rusty sharp metal edge hay rack/feeder on that wall, obviously put up by someone who wanted to make sure a draft horse couldn’t tear it down, and no thought of the future. It is now permanently fused to the wall, which is the toughest oak board I’ve met. About the only way I could get it off is to cut it off… Think sparks, MANY sparks. The barn is just so old and has nooks and crannies that I could never remove the flammable material or even see if there was something smoldering… And it’s property I lease, not own… So plan B was to put the hay rack there and use the left edge to hold up one side of the board that blocks off that section of the short wall. Nobody can rub their body parts on rusty, pointy bits. Not pretty or ideal, but safe!
