Yes, this - they were discussing it – looked like he did not actually intend to jump the second brush wedge but instead take the long route, or at least made it look like he intended that!

It looked pretty clear on the replay from the alternate angle that he took the alternate on purpose. Hopefully they score it like that.

Re: those who aren’t fans of Phillip’s riding–I audited a clinic with Lucinda Green, and you are in good company–“he rides standing in his stirrups the entire course! Don’t do that, he can get away with it, but most people can’t.” (I am still impressed by his core strength.)
