Kentucky Three Day Event 2024

That makes sense. Definitely didn’t look like it belonged at the jog, at least on my ipad facebook screen.

I somehow missed Phillip but saw the comments on the stream. I agree Boyd looked… Frumpy? So weird. Not at all suited to his style. I wonder what he thought?

We don’t know what sponsors have asked the riders to do…

I never notice how Phillip looks. He dresses nicely but never flashy. Boyd on the other hand… I was suprised but thought it was workmanlike. Definitely not his style but not sloppy. Jennie looked sensational!

Do go to the track kitchen. Breakfast is inexpensive and delicious and its simply fun.

I was disappointed Boyd didn’t wear the Stars and Stripes ensemble. Will, it takes a real man to wear pink. And I had to fan myself when the second rider (from Germany) showed up in his uniform….

In 2012… I was there and I remember the commercial breaks during stadium. I looked it up to check the year and apparently they showed XC live as well, but not on the main network. https://www.horseillustrated.com/horse-news-2012-04-24-rolex-eventing-tv-broadcast

Only watched the trot-up with half an eye, but when PD came up, I was like “what? shouldn’t you at least dress up a little?” I understand the sponsor gets what the sponsor wants, but he looked like he just wore whatever he happened to have on.

It is always fun to see who is dressed appropriately for the weather and who shows up looking like “I know this is too warm or too cold for today’s conditions but this is the outfit I planned, and I’m wearing it.”

My votes for best dressed female is Monica Spencer who wore a really cool looking belted coat/poncho/shawl. Faudree obviously stole the show on the male side - along with the German military uniform!

I did a course walk with Kyle Carter two years ago and it made me want to do a clinic with him so badly. He had a way of explaining things that was so clear while still sounding like he was talking a peer, or student who was about to jump the course.

he really does! He has done some great podcasts with RideIQ that made me want to try riding with him too!

Finally made it to Lexington, drove up from N AL but had to leave a bit late. I’m dragging around a couple non-horsey people this weekend, can’t wait to get to the park tomorrow!

I’m a grumpy old fart when it comes to the trot up.

  • It’s a trot up. Jog indicates lacklustre which isn’t the aim of the trot up.
  • I don’t like females in short skirts or dresses. I like traditional and classy. If you’re showing lots of leg or boobs, I’m going to assume your horse is lame.
  • Long hair should be tied back.
  • Gloves should be worn.

Flying in tomorrow. Really looking forward to the weekend with my mom - first time we’re doing it together since 2018. I can’t remember - are there places in the park to refill a water bottle?

The THW and her crew of armchair experts are all crying over the “unsound” horses at the trot-up, just like last time.

Does anyone have the promo code for the discounted fan USEF membership? #caringissharing

Yesterday…Yasmin’s ring familiarization with Banzi had so much elevation and collection…especially at the trot. So much precision… really uphill and powerful and forward. If she does this in the test….she will be tough to beat. I was interested to see Boyd.s horse Commando. He is larger than I thought he would be from photos…and really a lovely horse . I hope he is scored well. Sometime he is marked down for his neck too tight…but he was lovely…a little tricky on the flying changes….but you could really see how spectacular he will be next year.
