I just saw an AWESOME YouTube video of someone pouring molten aluminum into an ant nest then later digging up the whole shebang. After pressure washing it made a spectacular sculpture. The things were about 3x4 feet!
Walking around the pasture with molten aluminum isn’t really practical, sadly…
Just last evening…after another rainy day…the ground at the bottom of our back steps was alive with fire ants…the rain water drives them out…we dug the ground up all around the steps…sprinkled Diatomaseous earth dust generously over the area and today…NOT ONE ant around!!
Ok I’m gonna have to give DE a try for sure!!
I will say that “sprinkling “ may not be enough, you may have to put a couple if cups on each mound. Depending on the size. Tractor Supply has 50 lb bags for about $20. At least last time I purchased
