Know any members of Secretariat's last crop?

What has happened to/:confused: with Big Brown?[/QUOTE]

He’s retired and standing at Three Chimneys. http://www.threechimneys.com/BigBrown/ If you like bad feet, you can pay a lot of money to breed to him.

My horse is Secretariat’s great grand-daughter

I was unable to contact Amy Zimmerman …but my horse is Secretariats great grand daughter and is healing hearts as an equine therapist in CO.

QUOTE=Slewdledo;4139604]HRTV’S INSIDE INFORMATION SEEKS INFORMATION ON SECRETARIAT’S FINAL CROP

HRTV’s “Inside Information” series is seeking information on foals from Secretariat’s final foal crop, born in 1990. The data - and hopefully interviews – will be used for a segment of the show to air in October, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the death of the 1973 Triple Crown winner.

“Members of Secretariat’s final foal crop would be 19 years old, so it is conceivable that more than a few are still around, either as active broodmares, stallions or retired,” said Amy J. Zimmerman, HRTV’s Executive Producer. “Unfortunately, The Jockey Club only has records of those who have had live foals in the last year. We are trying to locate as many as possible for our show, including those who might be living out their retirement in someone’s backyard.”

Secretariat had 45 live foals in his last crop, with 39 making it to the races. Twenty-one of them were winners, with five stakes horses among them. The most accomplished member of his final crop was multiple Grade One winner Tinners Way, who won over $1.7-million. Tinners Way currently stands at Key Ranch in Texas.

Couldn’t use that link:yes::sadsmile: , can you copy;) the article and post it here:yes:?DRF obviously had the same idea. Here’s a cute article about some of the more obscure sons of Secretariat and what they are doing. I love the story about the medieval jousting.

Wow 20 years! I went to see him, and he died just months later. He was a gorgeous horse up until the day he died.

Except that they let him get too overweight. Same thing happened with Pulpit - Pulpit had a heart attach at 19 and Secretariat foundered at the same age. Seattle Slew lived a lot longer but they rode him every day and kept him at least a little bit fit.

A friend of mine has a grandson (maternal grandson) of Secretariat. His dam is a Secretariat daughter. I don’t know where the dam is though

Isn’t Innkeeper still around? I’ve always been a fan of that one as I have a gelding that is closely related on the dam side.

This thread and request for info is from 2009, probably why the link doesn’t work. Guessing it came up as a related thread and nobody noticed it was 6 years old. Did the article ever run?

Probably most of them aren’t around, now, four years later.

I remember seeing a Secretariat descendant, maybe grandson? Just a huge horse, very wide and muscular. As I recall, his OTTB descendants became very nice horses for the hunter ring.

I know of a Secretariat mare lounging around a lovely Kentucky field. She is an 88 model. In fact, I had a friend of mine take a picture of her last month and posted it on my FB page. The old girl looks pretty darn good for her age.

Six years later. But the ones I am familiar with have passed since this was posted.

Math is hard.
