I just did the compare and went with the Kubota. Just felt better made. Prices are comparable and both have discounts if you’re members of equestrian federations.
Well I have a Massey Ferguson (actually I have four: 75 years, 62 years, 23 years, and 10 years) so my vote doesn’t count! But, I would go with Kubota over John Deere. I have heard nothing good about the cost of JD repairs these days, on both the residential side and on the commercial side. And, more troubling, the people I know with JD’s always seem to have them going into the shop for something. The Kubotas just seem to run, and run, and run.
(I just like red better than orange!)
Thank you all! We have decided to get a Kubota L3901.
I just bought a L3901 HST and will pick up this coming week. We need ours primarily for brush hogging/mowing. How are you liking yours?
We really like it so far! Of course, this is our first tractor so I have no point of comparison. We have used it for mowing with the rotary mower – no problem whatsoever. We’ve also used it to pull out some stumps – couldn’t pull out all of the ones we tried but got some of them. And we’ve been using it to pull out this horrible thorny vine that has overgrown the fences. So - so far so good.
But I will note – we got the hybrid tires and after 5 hours of use had a hole in one of the front ones. The dealer thinks it was a fluke and replaced it for free. But a bit odd.
