Ladies, do you hook up the brush hog yourself?

Okay, I ordered Pat’s hitch a few days ago and it arrives tomorrow! A couple of weeks ago, based on the battery powered weed whacker thread, I also bought a weed whacker that runs on the same batteries as my Makita chainsaw (which I bought a couple of years ago based on yet another COTH thread). Thanks everyone for telling me where to spend my money.

That’s funny, my weed whacker and chainsaw are matched for batteries intentionally too  Mine are Black & Decker though.

Another note: Pat’s add several inches to the lift arms so I had to buy longer top link to compensate.

Good point above regarding the top link. Also check the newly extended PTO shaft of each implement you plan using on the three point. My brush hog PTO shaft still had enough telescoping surface to work fine, but my fertilizer spreader came so close to being an unsafe length that I had to buy a new, longer one. Don’t want a PTO shaft coming apart on you.

Heads up that the instructions that come with the Pat’s hitch suck (or at least they did a few years ago!) There are a few install youtubes out there that make it MUCH more clear.

I also lost a couple of the bolts that snug the hooks onto the 3 point arms–locktite those suckers once you get em set!

Yes.
I found that out, too!
Had to get a longer PTO shaft.

Nice to hear some other women are crazy enough to do the heavy farm labor also.
