Chiming in late here but I was at a barn for about 6 months when the BO decided the same thing- that I needed to pay a fee for leasing out my own horse. It was an extra $50 a month. BO claimed it was because of the extra work she had to do because of the lease (???). We left a few months later. She wanted to lease out her own horses not her clients horses. I felt she was so short sighted about it. She lost 3 clients/horses over it and the lessors that stayed no longer had horses to ride since the barn didn’t have any available to lease of their own- and she lost the income from those lessors showing.
there were other problems too of course… it was a sign of other problems.
