Has anyone seen the list of entry requirements/not alloweds for WEG if you are spectating?
But, based on the announcements that have been made, the teams are taking the opposite route to what you are mentioning. Both the British and NZL teams are pretty blatantly skewed towards fast and reliable cross country horses, and they were late to name their squads.
I’m keeping faith that it’s going to be a great event and I’m looking forward to attending.
Which is why I said it would be interesting to see the final us and Canada teams. Some of the teams already named appear to have taken the FEI at their word re course length. We’ll see. I don’t have Pollyanna like faith in any of the entities or individuals involved here.
The US team was named in late June. I have no first hand knowledge of team Canada but, based on other posts, it seems they may not be the team to look to for strategic guidance.
As far as I know they haven’t submitted final entries for the us team yet but if you say it’s confirmed I’ll take your word for it.
They are posted in this thread for those who have not seen them.
Eventing has certainly changed when a 5700 meter course is considered long. That’s the shortest allowable CCI 3* length. A course can be grueling at any length, but 5700 meters is, historically at any rate, a very short CCI 3* course.
I’ll believe that they will run the 5700 meters when the first rider goes off and the course is actually 5700 meters. Viney is right, 5700 is not that long.
Yeah that doesn’t seem long at all especially with 40+ jumping efforts.
Maybe put a few fences in the startbox. Just brainstorming here
For the record . . . press release Aug 13 stated that course will run full length
We all saw that press release. We’ll believe it when we see it.
Well, a thread on the subject seemed kinda incomplete without it, so . . .
Does anyone know if the spectators will be allowed to walk the cross country course? (Individually or as part of a sponsored course walk?)
