Hi everyone,
New barn in Lexington/Georgetown and in the process of getting everything up and running. I was wondering if anyone had any good sources for grain delivery and/or shavings.
Thank you!!

Try KBC, McCaulleys, Hallway feed. If you need hay/straw Giles is in Georgetown and they deliver. Also Standlee delivers too.
KBC will deliver not only feed and shavings, but also other misc barn supplies too.
Hilander Feeds in G’town, not the cheapest but they carry bagged shavings, locally milled feeds, fence lumber, all sorts of stuff. Standlee has a warehouse near Farmer’s Feed Mill/Hallway Feeds.
If you feed Triple Crown feeds, Southern States sells it. Even if they don’t have the particular one you want in stock, they can get it for you. And they deliver. I use the bagged pelleted bedding from Tractor Supply since I haven’t been able to find a source of bulk sawdust or non-wheat straw near me and there’s been many a time I get 10 or 15 bags and put it in the back seat of my car. If you go that route (bagged pellet bedding) you can always ask Southern States if they can find a source for it.
Welcome to the area. As a recent transplant myself, I can’t say enough nice things about the people in the area.

CR- you aren’t too far from where I work. We have really nice ceder shavings (they smell SO yummy!) that we get delivered. I can ask my boss where she gets them if you want.

That would be awesome! But I was thinking you are closer to Louisville? It doesn’t hurt to try though, right?

Tollgate Hay and Straw - (502) 543-8343. They are in an old tobacco barn next to Giles, which is also right next to the new Kroger. Nice guys, good selection.
TS pelleted bedding can be bought by the pallet. We just got a 10% off coupon which we will use for a pallet. KBC pelleted bedding is not as good - it smells musty and is so dark it’s harder to see the pee spots. We use McCauley’s for feed and they deliver for free.
Hallway feed is also good and they deliver pelleted bedding. I’ve never used their bedding, so I can’t speak to the quality.
Hope this helps, welcome to the area.

I work in Baghdad/Cropper. We get our cedar loads from Cedarville Lumber in Bethlehem. Their number is (502)845-4569. It’s about $300/load.
Thanks everyone!!

Thanks! I’ll give them a call and see if we are too far out.
