Light colored horses

This sounds beyond adorable! I will say that if you’re going to be very public facing gold colored horses are very attention catching. I had a very handsome black horse on trial for a month and people hardly knew he existed, then I bought my palamino and people were fawning over him non-stop and to be frank I’d say the black horse had slightly better conformation and movement. People just can’t resist the blond.

@polkadotedpony My full size black mare already gets lots of attention when we go. My husband on his bike and me riding make for an interesting pair. Last year I shaved hearts on her rump when I did her spring body clip and one little girl was over the moon about her “cutie” marks. (My little pony apparently)

I ride along a bike trail all the time (and lots of traffic) and I could care less. I doubt the bikers / joggers care much either. In fact, I very frequently get the “Pretty horse!” comment and I have done nothing to make them look “pretty”, LOL.

But to each his own!!

My pony is primarily white but she’s a pretty princess and keeps herself really clean. I actually went to a show once without ever washing her because she just keeps herself that clean lol. I realize how lucky I am since most of my friends with light colored horses spend a ton of time trying to keep them from being green all over.

My gray mare lives out 24/7 and had almost the entire 5 years I’ve owned her. Before leaving for a show she gets a bath, sleezy and sheet, legs wrapped, and stuck in a stall. This keeps her bright white. At home I just use green spot remover and wash her tail once a week. She’s not any messier than my black horse. I have a very large grey Appendix gelding. Just shy of 16.3H and the stout QH body. It’s a lot of real estate to cover when preparing for a show. I buy QuicSilver in the 1/2 gallon size and he wears clothes almost every day. Luckily he isn’t too much of a pig and he is nice to his clothes. I recently acquired a dark bay OTTB and thought to myself, “ahhh yes, a nice dirt colored horse…”. He might be more of a pig pen than the grey!
