Nothing wrong with that combination, it’s just that it was about the ONLY broad spectrum option way back when. Just because it’s not bright, shiny and new doesn’t mean it isn’t effective. Of course, the same could also be said of SMZs
Based on some fun experiences said no one ever, I’m not using procaine pen unless it’s the last resort. Procaine is pretty awful stuff and that reaction is a lot more common (and can be fatal) than penicillin allergies. Awful stuff.
