Do they still make Rembrandt saddles? I had one e once that I really loved
I bought a customized BC Vinci X through Trumbull, and am very pleased with it. It is a stock tree, but custom flap, block and welting. Just as ordered and I had it in about a month.
I don;t ride dressage but my trainer just got an equipe and loves it. his young stallion loves it too. I just tried their HJ saddles. very horse-first.
(just ran across this thread searching for equipe)

I tried the macel s chazot (French) and it’s amazing. Caveat you need to know how to ride and use your own core as its totally free of blocks or raised cantle so there’s no seat belt unlike 99 percent of saddles these days. You can be super classic and classy in this saddle. Super grippy lovely leather and there’s no bulk in your way. Incredibly stable saddle to sit in. They are hard to get a hold of. They don’t send out demos in USA. I was able to try some that someone had in my area. They have a few dressage models. It’s in general hard to get the classic close contact dressage saddles in USA but seem to be more available in Europe at least from my research. Macel is on fb and they linked me up with someone close who had the saddles. Best thing I ever did after years of trying the typically available crappy dressage saddles.
Zombie thread (like 5 years old)
I’ll throw another vote for Lemke (though I thought she was based out of NorCal? Did Sheryl move to Nevada?). Beautifully made, extremely comfortable, and Sheryl Lemke is an EXCELLENT fitter. Truly excellent, almost obsessive about perfect fit. Before our appointment she asked me about my horse - age, breeding, etc, and adjusted her recommendation accordingly, so that I bought a saddle the horse could grow into (instead of one she would outgrow in a year). She spent so much time fitting my saddle once we were pushing 3, maybe 4 hours to get it juuuussttt right. I was getting tired and almost told her it was good enough lol. Almost certainly she can customize colors, etc.
Re: N2 Saddlery, I’ve heard (from several people) horror stories about the customer service. I was looking to buy one of their saddles second-hand and the woman had such an awful experience with them she was almost in tears telling me the story. She just wanted to be done. For what its worth, the few that I’ve sat in felt very narrow in the twist, if that’s your thing. And yes, they are a spinoff of Custom.
Maybe Sheryl moved from nevada- its been quite a few years since I got the Lemke…
Smith Worthington has gone out of business. There is a thread in this Forum about it.
Again, this is a zombie thread.
A few years ago I had an independent saddle fitter out to help me find a saddle for my mare. The saddle my mare picked was a brand I had never heard of before. Apparently the brand was only a couple of years old at that time which made me a little nervous, but it was the only saddle my mare went well in during multiple saddle fitting visits. I ended up with a Takt TSD-037. It is wool flocked and was custom made for her. They also provide a demo saddle for you while you wait for your saddle to be made.
Sue Carson saddles may be worth looking into
Custom saddlery is great. Nice saddles. Though, I have a Loxley which I find is the same quality but 3/4 the price with more ‘fun’ options like croc stamped leather accents.
Thanks for reminding me of her. I had one of her saddles years ago. Best saddle fitter ever. I will be needing a saddle soon and hope she still some to Southern California.
I bought one off Ebay, the saddle is lovely, the leather is very nice and seat is quite comfortable. I really wish it fit my horse, but sadly it does not.
Years ago, the trees were not adjustable, but the newer models are adjustable by a fitter with a tree stretcher.
I really wish this saddle fit my horse! The tree shape is not right for her.

How out of the box do you want to be? If you you love options (adjustable stirrup bars, adjustable knee rolls) - foam panels that you can learn how to easily adjust if your horse changes shape a bit…?
Want awesome customer support and 14-day trial period?
Try EQ Saddle Science. At first I thought it was a bit “goofy” but it has been a game changer for my extraordinarily picky young horse w/back mineralizations. I’ve tried a lot of traditional saddles on him that he didn’t like. But he loves his EQ. I have the Tribute dressage in calf-skin. Very nice.
EQ Saddle Science (dressage and jump saddles) is the spin-off of the Reactor Panel Company (endurance saddles).
i have custom saddle as well, and it is great for me and my horse, fits great on horse, and fits me as well, open seat and excellent for my short legs.
also stubben, passier, KN are very good saddles. A status
Hulsebos is worthless saddle, they are "custommade"in sout america, with cheap leather, and they ask to much money on such saddles, it is a brand that they say is a A status but here in the netherlands, it is a C status, other brands who are twice as cheap, hae the same or even better quality.!!!
The guy who owns N2 is an absolute asshole. He basically said I was too fat for his saddles. I’m 5’9, muscular and wear a 30L breeches. He was perfectly happy to sell one to my petite, blond barn mate. It’s worth pointing out, I am a significantly more experienced, skilled and talented dressage rider… but don’t fit the image he wants for his “brand.”
I might have put up with how incredibly distasteful he is as a human if I thought the saddles were amazing. They’re not. Same overly deep, restrictive seats as Custom. Don’t waste your time or money.
N2 is a relatively new company, and like any smaller newer company, they won’t have a fitter on every street corner. I love my Vincitore, my husband liked it so much he has one, and we have had a couple or three others in the barn. If they don’t have a fitter in your neighborhood, they do travel, and there are fitters from one end of the US to the other, and there are fitters oversea.
If you want custom, with the ability to try different colors, different leather, different shapes and styles, I would absolutely recommend them.
