Live streaming cam options

Rubber lined stalls are not a requirement to stream live cams, HorseKrazy. All anyone really wants to know is that the animal is taken care of. Some owners work full time, which prevents them from mucking stalls every time a pile hits the floor. Guess what? That’s OK.

Emergency situations are always a chance we take when owning animals, even with all the preventative care we could give. In these situations, it is always a good idea to keep your viewers informed, but remember, it’s your cam and your comfort level.

Live cams can be a life saver, not just for the animals shown. They are an excellent learning tool. The advice you can gain from other knowledgeable breeders is immeasurable.

There are many camera system options available. It all depends on your personal preference and situation.

Obviously I am a believer in foal cams otherwise I wouldn’t have reiterated the question. I want to know what the options are. So far I have heard MS, Showcase and Ustream. Is that it?

Anyone know what’s going on with showcase streaming? I signed up on Monday sent them money and have gotten nothing from them despite repeated emails and a pm on COTH being sent. Very irritated right now.

I know nothing but am sorry to hear that. I crossed them off my list of possibilities from this thread but liked that mare owners did have an alternative to MS since I would sleep in the barn before I ever gave them another cent.

I’m not using any service this season. If I’m lucky my hubby will finish installing my camera before my mare foals that way I will at least be able to watch. I think I can use skype as well to watch remotely. Oh well, maybe next year.

I was just coming on here to update and say that Leslie was unavailable due to reasons beyond her control. While I panicked and went back to marestare today, I may try showcase streaming the next time I need camera streaming. Thanks Leslie!
