Hey Plumcreek didja get to see the Working Hunter class on the last day? It was pretty cool. There was a 23 year old horse (Eli North) who pinned 10th, a 70 something year old man (on the world’s CUTEST packer that he also won the pleasure driving with) and a mare (Arctic Lark) competing against her own foal (Lark’s Best Bett) and beating it! LOL!
What a fun class! Thanks for posting the link!!
Yeah, I could tell that Roger Call was THRILLED to win the Reserve. He has sometimes had very iffy rounds, and this time looked great. Would like to have that horse. Suzanne Jones, at 87, had a better leg in the flat eq than most, but her ranch horse was a bit jiggy in the pattern. I love that show. My friend Gretchen Keller showed in both the Working Cowhorse and the Working Hunter.
Yes, thanks for posting the link. I am working on getting my QH’s papers in order (he has been doing USEF for all his life) and then trying to qualify for next year at one of the Katy shows. Looks so fun! Our combined age will be 77 (61 + 16) so that is getting up there too!
When I was a teenager in Dallas, I was so jealous of my friends who went to Suzanne Jone’s riding camp in the summers. They would come back with the FANCIEST horses and riding them so well!
It just seems like the select show has the COOLEST stories.
This one made me smile

I thought your friend Gretchen’s horse was adorable BTW.
