Looking for eventing lessons North of Dallas, TX

Hi everyone,

After a few years away from riding, my sister and I are interested in taking lessons at a laid back barn, preferably eventing. We’re both former Pony Clubbers, 15+ years of experience. We don’t plan to compete anytime soon – just want a fun place to shake the rust off and learn! We would need school horses, since we currently don’t own our own horses and could do a joint lesson (same skill level) if allowed. We live in Frisco so are thinking somewhere perhaps north of us within 30-40 minutes? Laid back is key… we’re not interested in youth or adult drama. Any recommendations?

Thank you for any tips, we’re so excited!

Why not contact your nearest Pony Club? PC’s are always looking for experienced alumns and usually have lesson horses or leases available.

I think Rebecca Brown is in the Dallas area and does a lot of eventing and h/j.

What areas of North DFW are you open to driving to?

School horses is going to be the issue. I would normally send you to Whispering Farms. Ashley Bearden is great and Prosper is just a short drive from Frisco. It is still worth talking to her. Rebecca is down south of Dallas and she and her mom are at Buckbranch. A great place and a good program. The other place with school horses is Curragh, of course…very safe and excellent riding school program, but it is a distance from Frisco over in Ft. Worth…but might be worth it for the journey once a week or even once a month.

Check us out in rockwall, www.rockwallhills.Com or www.pegasuseventing.Com ! I have school horses and a great group of amateurs & kids. The Rockwall County Pony Club is based out of our barn. … and I am a Graduate A, USEA ICP Level 3 certified instructor, USDF Bronze and silver medalist and Advanced competitor!

Laura Clarkon is one of East Texas’s best kept secrets! She has a lot of Dallas clients who come out to ride with her on the Dallas side of Greenville. She teaches at a lovely, intimate immaculately maintained facility just north of Greenville. School horses available. No drama! I’m sure there are lots of clients that would love to give you references. Lots of eventing experience and a terrific instructor. You can text or call her @; (903) 268-7464.

Love Laura, good person! One of her daughters events 2 horses for one of my BFFs. Whole family is very knowledgeable, and very experienced, but no pressure to show. I just didn’t know she had access to school horses.
