I’ll put in the suggestion of what NOT to get - a blank journal book. I never really saw the point. I got one when I graduated. I liked the person it came from enough to not throw it out, so instead, I just packed it through 6 moves. Unless you know for a fact that the person you are gifting it to actually does keep a journal or diary, just skip the blank book.
