When I first owned horses, which was a LONG time ago, it was longe. But the English language continually morphs and it has morphed into lunge.
I do longe, although I’d rather lounge, but it’s rather difficult if my horse lunges.

Depending on where you are located, either longe or lunge is correct–lounge is not correct; it is an entirely different word!
Yup my horse would most definitely prefer it to be “lounge”.
