I couldn’t catch all of it from the background audio on the live feed, but 15 riders on the standby. Zayna coming back on top after the first 50. Augusta, Skylar, Natalie and Alexander were also on the list.
Boy, you can tell from the attire of the people walking the course that it is still quite chilly there. Lots of down costs and warm hats.
Assuming my phone’s weather app is somewhat accurate, current temp is 36 degrees in Lexington. I bet there were a lot of fresh horses this morning!
I was thinking it looked like a Starbucks ad, so many trainers with coffee in their hands! Can’t say I blame them.
There were a couple of kids who really pretty much missed the jump itself and hopped over the little low wing, but I don’t know if that was visible from the judges’ angle.
Did the livestream just stop? I had been getting a lovely angle of the jump with the ClipMyHorse TV icon.
I had to refresh
How was number 51 in the order?
After showing the drag break perfectly, the feed went down for me as the class started back up.
First Standby
15 riders have made the first standby, in this order:
32 – Zayna Rizvi
1 – Audrey Shulze
23 – Mimi Gochman
33 – Augusta Iwasaki
47 – Alexander Alston
49 – Eric Krawitt
5 – Hannah Hoch
44 – Layla Kurbanov
14 – Campbell Hudkins
45 – Natalie Jayne
18 – Stella Buckingham
13 – Christian Dominguez
25 – Alexandra Lipacis
19 – Skylar Wireman
42 – Alexa Elle Lignelli
If I heard the livestream correctly, she either fell or was excused early on. I wasn’t actually watching at the time, so I’m not sure exactly what happened.
Thanks.
So for planning purposes, it took just about two hours and fifteen minutes to see the first 50 rounds, have a course walk and drag break, and start up again.
I am not impressed with the audio.
This weird diatribe about education and traveling to work with different trainers seems unnecessary.
Aw man, I tuned in just in time to miss a weird diatribe? What were they talking about?
Brian went on a rambling tangent about online schooling and tutors, which somehow morphed into discussion of kids who train with their parents vs traveling to work with someone else.
All while completely ignoring the rider in the ring. Strange.
ETA: I was mistaken - commentator is Brian Lookabill, not Oliver Kennedy.
Especially considering Safe Sports’ requirements. And he went on to talk about how one does not need college necessarily. I thought it was unnecessary chatter. College is not for everyone but there is not enough time
to have that conversation whilst also commentating on the Maclay Finals.
This is kind of a weird diatribe too, I’d like to hear about the round and not about animal shelters and volunteering, tbh.
More Ava, less Brian please.
I think the male commentator is Brian Lookabill right now. He does a good job, but seems like he gets bored of watching the equitation round after round and just keeps talking and talking. I generally enjoy when Ava Stearns commentates, she has a lot of insight and tends to stay way more focused, and brings it back to the round happening. Edit - didn’t mean to be replying to Limerick specifically
Oh I remember this horse from Medal finals, he’s so cute and I loff him.
