No issues for me either. This course had definitely shown to be a challenge.
Tanner Korotkin understood that test well. He was not kidding around in the hand gallop. I would have liked to have seen him land the counter-lead to 9. I imagine that our top riders will do that. It will produce a better line to 10.
Well, Taylor has saved herself something to win next year.
Unfortunately it’s her last year I believe. She’s a freshman at Auburn
Don’t know what happened with Coco Fath at the counter canter to the green gate. Couple of unexpected bad rounds.
IIRC it was last year’s Maclay where Taylor executed a very similar left turn counter canter where she landed the counter lead and maintained it while having a VERY close encounter with another fence, but made it happen and enddd up second. She tried to do it again this year but just ran out of room.
Bummer! I thought she had another year. Well, she’s certainly had plenty of success this year.
I keep Madison on top, then Jordyn Rose, and move Annabel back up to third. I think I would be willing to pin it without a test, but we will see. Top two feel very definite to me, with the remainder of the top 10 a little looser.
Unclear about whom you are asking. Coco Fath did not land the counter lead over 9 despite an attempt to do so and did not appear to make any attempt at changing leads to 10. Taylor landed the counter lead to 7, then swapped to the inside lead, then executed a flying change back to the counter lead. She looked a little flustered in the turn afterward and had a rail later in the course.
That was messy! I see Madison staying on top, then Jordan, Cooper/Daisy. Annabel clobbered the last jump so badly they had to rebuild it and hold up the horse after her, so I think she’s dropping back a few spots. Apart from that, I can’t really remember who else had OK enough trips to stay in the top 10 because there were so many big mistakes!
Somebody please tell me that Alexandra Worthington has another year. That was a heartbreaker. She was so good up to that point.
I would have the same three and then Daisy fourth. I think Tanner will move up quite a bit–loved his gallop!
If I can nitpick the last two, Jordan and Madison, Jordan’s round was just a tad bit more polished. I would pin her 1st.
Definitely Maddy Goetzmann for the win, and Jordyn Rose Freedman stays second, both had fantastic second trips. I expect there to be a lot of movement from 3rd on
Daisy Farish moves up, she had a great trip
Such a heartbreaker, her position is beautiful. Those same black standards on the combination that got a few riders in trouble at the first fence yesterday.
I could see either Madison or Jordyn Rose winning depending on where the judges are sitting. I gave Madison the edge for an outstanding transition from hand gallop to working canter, and a more stable position. Jordyn Rose was better in the trot fence and rode an excellent trip but visibly lost her form in the air over some of her horse’s spectacular efforts.
I concur. Lots of slots to fill after several bobbles in the last ten trips.
Nice to see Tanner Korotkin in the top 10. He’s one to watch
Maybe they didn’t comprise half the starters as George said, but half the ribbon winners are on gray horses
10th place Cooper Dean
