Making forelock grow "normal" hair again?

Does anyone remember who had the pony with the troll forelock? 2DogsFarm?
I’ve been searching but I can’t find it.

It was priceless.

@SLedbetter - that pony is adorable!!!

We don’t really know what he is. Too big for mini, too small for Shetland. We love him regardless. I have tried every magical remedy for frizzy hair on this dude. My friend even made me a bottle of ‘hair serum’ for my boys, has coconut oil, lavender, and other essential oils. All it does is make his frizz shinier, but it smells wonderful! Lol. Sometimes we just have to go with what we have. Bean does have a gorgeous tri-color tail, that looks like it belongs on a ‘real’ horse.

It is a bummer there is no majikal remedy for the troll forelock. My guy’s forelock is borderline, leaning towards frizzy troll, but he isn’t even 6 yet, so I’m a bit worried what it will look like in the coming years. Just behind his bridle path (which is only an inch or so) he has a beautifully full mane - full enough to fall on both sides of his neck.

I have a Thoroughbred mare like that. Thin tail as a two year old…figured it would fill in as she matured. Nope :frowning: Tons of mane, though! Her tail is kinda doing a bit better now that I dock it to the hocks each winter, but it will never be thick. Sigh!!

A little off topic but I have a trail horse that has the most beautiful tail ever. And forelock. But the mane, oh it’s so straggly and sad, just keeps getting thinner as she ages. Would you cut it? I am thinking it may actually look better chopped than straggly pieces hanging down. And if cut, with a clipper or scissors, since shes a trail horse it doesn’t have to be perfect.

I’m also a member of the sad, poofy forelock club. Platinum Performance helped (so, flax/biotin) but it just turned in to a bigger, fluffier poof. :frowning:
