Maksymilian is for sale

I remember seeing Maksymillian and Jane at NEDA years ago, when he was going through a real training issue. He would basically stop dead during his test under pressure. He was for sale during that time.

This is a real testatment to Jane, her perserverance and correct training to see how far they have come, having brought this horse to a world class level. Amazing really…

I wish I had a hundred grand laying around… he always seemed like a cool horse to me. And only 10 years old.

Maybe she needs to start charging more then for her riding and teaching… because this is where doing things as a professional but for love gets you - selling your horse

Makes me really appreciate my clients who respect me and would not take my time or expertise for free, ever.

And then of course maybe she is selling the horse for other reasons as stated - I hope she is - but this statement really make me pause.

good lord, who said she was free? I am just saying you get more than your money’s worth with her. I have cliniced and ridden with others, they don’t teach as much as Jane does, she is very passionate about it.
what makes you think I don’t appreciate her or respect her? for crying out loud do you want me to have Jane call you and explain the reason for selling to you?..so you don’t pause?
that has to be the dopiest post I have seen in a while!

It does not matter why she is selling her horse. She is. The person who buys him will have a great horse. Good luck to whomever!

I am sorry Bogey2, I did not mean to say that you were not paying her for her services! What I meant was that often in this sport people do give and give and they do not get paid for it… it is seen as a service performed for love, and they do end up without enough money to pay their bills or take care of their horses. I think a lot of times because horses are people’s hobbies, they can and do forget that professionals are doing their job.

It just made me think about that, and how often I have seen it. This industry demands 110% of people and they just don’t always get compensated for it. And it really did make me take a minute to be grateful for the people in my life who recognized that and made sure they respected me financially. So sorry about that!

There was a sidebar in either the Chronicle or Practical Horseman (had to be one of those b/c they are the only 2 I get) that said that the expense of the World Cup tour had depleted her financial capacity so he would be put up for sale.

It sounded like a sad but necessary business decision that many professionals have to make.

Other riders who do not own “their” horses can have the ride taken out from under them without being part of the decision, so while ownership does not come with a deep pocket the way a horse owned by someone else can, you have the right to do as you like with the horse.

I think if the owner is sad about it, it is sad, period. If she wishes she could keep him, then I hope for her that she is able to put together a syndicate or find sponsorship to make that possible.

It’s all Bogey’s fault what with the free rides and the mooching and all.

:lol::lol::lol:

with all the money I screwed her on I am now buying Mak!

Many of us are sad that we cannot provide a “forever home” for every good horse we have owned. For most people, this just isn’t possible if you want to continue riding, especially if you want to progress.

It was announced at the NEDA spring fling w/Robert Dover that this horse was for sale.
