Man fatally mauled, dog killed, by pit bulls on dog walk

Torture? Hyperbole much?

I don’t own that dog, different person. But that proves how quick you are to bang away at the key board without knowing what the hell you are even on about. Thank you for proving my point. Reading for comprehension isn’t for everyone I know.

Well - not a dobie person, but do own hunting dogs w/ their dew claws removed. Our breed(s) do not get a docked tail but I know several friends that dogs do have docked tails. The removal of appendages is actually to prevent very painful injuries later in the field. Having seen a lab w/ a sprained tail (cold tail), I can now see the advantage of docking tails when the dogs are pups. The poor dog was virtually crippled for a period of time.I haven’t personally seen a dew claw tear but I can imagine that it is terrible for the dog. Weeks of debilitating pain or quick slice when a day old? Not a tough choice. It is not animal abuse, IMHO…

Pitbull debate. It makes me sad but I can NOT imagine the horror of witnessing a person mauled to death by a dog - any dog. A horrifying painful death. Any one who has a dog who commits this type of crime should be charged with murder. Full stop.

Try again :lol::lol::winkgrin:

I don’t agree with the practice nor do I like the looks of cropping and docking for purely esthetic reasons. I also think it’s uneccessary for hunting dogs to have their dew claws or tails removed for a “just in case” reason. I liken it to male humans being circumcised or females having their genatalia mutilated because of a custom.

That being said, I’m glad it’s done when they are very young, dogs and humans both, and that the pain is forgotten. Although in the case of cropping and docking, there is absolutely no way anyone can convince me that there is no residual pain after nerve endings, cartilage or bone has been cut through.

I agree that anyone that has any dog that kills should be charged with murder. I would also like to see the breeders or rescues that make these dogs so readily available to just anyone shut down.

Yes! Exactly.
I do agree with you we no one can change the nature.
