Maybe. Would that protect more than a mesh fly sheet hood (doesn’t help)?

The ones I’ve felt are thicker and have some weight to them. Not sure if it would be too hot though

After seeing your pics…I would just roach the mane and forget about it. I wouldn’t even bother with braids.

Open to suggestions for preventing it getting to that state this year!

When my horse did that reaching through the bars in his pen, the only solution I found was adding wire mesh to the panels so he couldn’t reach through.

I just did a recognized dressage show without braiding last month. The horse’s mane was longer than roached but too short to braid. It half stuck up and half laid down. Up close it was obvious but you didn’t have to get too far away before it just blended in with his neck.
It actually made me wonder why I’ve been stressing out about braiding for so many years!
