Day 29 today and she did get rid of one on her own. There is one healthy baby!
Is there any way one could be hiding? What other day would be a good time to double check?[/QUOTE]
This had been my experience. We check mares at 15-30 and 45. In some cases at 60.
If we find “twins” at 15 we rarely if ever take any action. Especially if they are side by side. Will check at 20-25 days to see if they have drifted apart and then decide if we should pinch one or not. We only breed TBs so it depends on the the mare and what month of the breeding season we are in.
I have found more times than not one is absorbed with in 30 days.
As to one “hiding” it can happen. It really depends on the expertise/experience of the repro-vet and the quality of the US machine they are using.
No disrespect to “young” repro-vets but I only work with ones who have had a number of years of experience specializing in repro.
If one is hiding it is only a matter of time until its big enough to be seen just about anywhere. Just cost extra $$ palping every 5-10 days.
