I also added Ulcergard
She had a huge hunterâs bump and some muscle wasting around it. I didnât read all responses, but a dropped hip can also be due to a pelvis fracture. Sometimes these can be seen on ultrasound, depending on the quality, and sometimes only in something like a bone scan. Not sure if that was looked into. My friend had a horse that broke his pelvis as a baby, and he did heal okay, but never could develop much of a top line. He did have behavioral issues, like rearing and bucking under saddle. Could have been related to that, or possibly he just wasnât trained well. Heâs now passed away.
My pony developed mild laminitis last week, although it doesnât completely add up to the timeline. His T4 was low and insulin high but I understand laminitis can do this. Nothing was off the charts, I think. Insulin was 50. Tested negative for Cushings.
What is EPM?
